Bitcade is coming to Android
Dry Lightning Labs is now a registered Google Play developer. That means Bitcade is on its way to Android phones and tablets.
This week the studio became a real company, an Arizona LLC. Today it has a developer account on Google Play in its own name. For a lab that started as one person building an arcade at the kitchen table, that's a big week.
What's coming
Bitcade for Android will be the same arcade you can play at playbitcade.com, installed like any other app and opening straight to the games:
- All 51 original games, free to play, with touch controls built for phones, and controllers too.
- Your progress comes with you. Scores, tickets, prizes and badges carry over from the web with cloud save.
- The whole arcade. World leaderboards, daily challenges, the weekly tournament and the walkable neon arcade floor.
I'm getting the app and its store listing ready now. When it's live, I'll post the link here, on Instagram and on LinkedIn.
Can't wait?
You don't have to. Bitcade already runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Open playbitcade.com and start playing, no download needed.
For anyone with an app idea
Taking Bitcade through the store process myself means I know the road: developer accounts, store listings, reviews and the rest. If you've got an app you want on people's phones, I'd love to hear about it.
